Vidal Sassoon died on Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 84. The trendsetting hair dresser—who pioneered geometric haircuts with sharp angles in the late 1950s and early 1960s— had leukemia, according to the New York Times. He began training as a hairdresser at 14 in London and went on to set trends in hair care fashions and with his styling products.
